Inn Above Onion Creek "Artists"

We have such talented guests that visit the Inn Above Onion Creek. Carl and Sonia Muniz were at the Inn this weekend to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Upon checking out Carl had asked if we had any vines that he could cut to make a cross to commemorate his anniversary and stay here at the Inn. Well, we have no shortage of vines here with our wonderful groundskeeper Isabel taking care of things. Carl quickly cut some passion vine and within 5 minutes Sonia had crafted this beautiful cross. Congratulations on your 10 years together!

Painting The Inn Above Onion Creek

We are taking advantage of a few slow days here at the Inn Above Onion Creek by giving the rooms a fresh coat of paint. We recently finished the common areas, i.e. the library, dining room and kitchen and now we've made our way to the rooms. Make your reservation today so you can be the first to ding up the paint in your favorite room!

Friends of Seton Celebration at Inn Above Onion Creek

On October 1st the new Seton-Hays hospital opened in Kyle, Texas. It's a beautiful new hospital serving the Hays county area and we are very proud it is in our home town. Last night at the Inn Above Onion Creek the Seton-Hays Foundation held a board meeting in our library followed by a party with "friends of Seton". A wide selection of delicious appetizers were served to the 50 guests in attendance prepared by our wonderful kitchen staff. Holiday cheer was in the air as the guests mingled and forged new friendships. The celebration was hosted by our very own assistant innkeeper Mary Ann Mattis and Tom Searcy, our neighbor to the West (pictured above). Both are directors for the Seton-Hays foundation. We welcome our new friends at Seton-Hays.

Plants Building Igloo's??? Strange Happening At The Inn Above Onion Creek

An interesting phenomenon occurred with the frost we received this morning. Overnight a small type of plant seemed to build a coat of ice for protection. The "coats" of ice are actually hollow and they resemble a tee-pee or igloo that has been built around the base of the stem. During breakfast at the Inn Above Onion Creek the guests were commenting on this strange happening and nobody had ever seen anything like it. Have any of you? If so we'd love to know about this process.

Winter wonderland has arrived at the Inn Above Onion Creek! Granted it only hung around for 15 minutes but we did see some snow falling on the Inn. Snow in the Texas hill country is a pretty sight!
