The Greening of a Texas Hill Country Bed and Breakfast

Dear Guests:

As you may or may not know the Inn Above Onion Creek is a member of "Green Hotels" an organization that promotes eco-friendly practices in the hospitality industry. As a result we are always looking for ways to be "greener" here at the Inn. Nope, we haven't gotten more eco-friendly but things are definitely much greener after the recent rain storms that hit the Texas hill country last week. The native Texas grasses have started growing again and the flowers in the gardens and in the courtyard are in full bloom!

We are happy to to report that the butterflies are in full force as well. Monarchs, Gulf Fritillaries, Queens, and various Swallowtails have been fluttering around the Inn grounds and laying eggs for the next generation of beautiful butterflies. With the cooler fall temperatures now is a great time to visit the Inn Above Onion Creek and check out the great Texas hill Country attractions. We still have availability for the weekend of Sept. 25-26, take a look at our availability calendar to see if your favorite room is available.

Texas Hill Country Lodging Special

Dear Guests:

We need rain here in the Texas hill country and we are asking for your help. Do you know an effective rain dance, a rain ritual, or any other way to make it rain? Then we want you to come visit our bed and breakfast. The Inn Above Onion Creek has a Texas Hill Country Lodging Special, it's the "Singing in the Rain" September special. If it rains at the Inn during your stay (more than a few drops) then you will receive a 10% discount for that night's stay. So, for example, if it rains 2 days during a three night stay you will receive 10% off for two nights.

Central Texas is currently at an exceptional drought stage but fortunately here at the Inn Above Onion Creek we have a gray water collection system that we use to water our gardens and courtyard, so all of the beautiful flowers, including the morning glories are still in bloom. The cooler September temperatures have already started so it's a great time to come visit the Inn Above Onion Creek, and maybe during your visit you'll be "Singing In The Rain".
