Ed and Jeanne's 50th Visit and Anniversary!

All of the staff at Sage Hill strive to make each guest's stay special and memorable, but our guests make a special impression on us, as well.

Two of of our guests, Ed and Jeanne, have been frequent visitors to the Inn for a more than a decade. I'm sure any of our guests who have had the chance to meet them can attest to their bright and lively attitude and Ed's gift for gab.

We've had the amazing opportunity to help celebrate two very extraordinary milestones during Ed and Jeanne's visit to the Inn this week: their 50th visit to the Inn and more importantly their 49th wedding anniversary!

We would like to thank Ed and Jeanne for trusting us with such an important milestone and hope that guests continue to find the rest and wonder they come to us to find, year after year. We love having such great guests like and Ed and Jeanne come visit us as often as they do and we wish them the best of happiness!

Texas Hill Country Trail Blazing

Our new trail markers.
With 88 acres of Texas Hill Country, Sage Hill Inn's property encompasses an overwhelming variety of beautiful and unique plants and wildlife. Our hiking trails have been an enjoyable highlight for many of our visiting guests over the past two decades and our hiking trails are a special point of pride for us.

In the spirit of maintaining our guests' enjoyment, we have recently employed a young and braving trail-blazer, Ryan Hull, who has worked very diligently with our Foreman, Isabel, to clear, mark and rejuvenate all of the hiking trails. With retraced  pathways, cedar posts marking the direction of each trail and few new short-cuts and pathways, our trails are looking better than ever.

Guests can adventure down to the Onion Creek, stop at the overlook to enjoy the panoramic cliff view, hike down the bluff or meander through the garden and greenhouse to enjoy looking and identifying the local wildflowers and birds.

We will also be integrating a self-guided nature walk very soon, for those who would like to learn a little more about the surrounding Hill Country.

Our updated trail map.
Guests can grab a trail map at the front office, a walking stick and some chilled bottled water before heading out on their adventure. For those needing a little snack along the trail, our chef, Ryan Castille, has started making Inn-ergy Bars that are packed with all kinds of healthy, energizing ingredients to put a little extra zing in your hiking step. And as always, the Inn keeps sunscreen and bug spray on hand, to make sure your visit stays bug-bite and sunburn free.

Hikes are especially relaxing in the morning before
the heat picks up in the afternoon.
If you're interested in birding and observing wildlife, all of our rooms are now equipped with binoculars and a bird-identification brochure that we encourage you to take out and enjoy during your hike. Our reference library in the office can help you with identifying any plants or birds flower you can't quite put a name to.

And of course, to cool down after a hike around the property you can go for a swim in our large pool or lounge on the pool deck under a lovely shaded tree and enjoy the panoramic Hill Country view with a refreshing glass of our ice tea.

You can find more information about the Sage Hill grounds, accommodations and availability at our website: http://www.sagehill.com.

Happy 10th Anniversary to Sage Hill Inn's Innkeeper, Amy Dolan!

We are very excited to announce the 10th Anniversary of our Innkeeper, Amy Dolan. Amy has been here through some very important milestones: from the small 9 room start-up,
our recent change in owners and our transition to a 15 room inn and spa. Amy has been here through it all, working hard and pulling all of her efforts and kindness to make sure that every guest that comes through the Inn's front doors is greeted with a smile and world-class attention during their time away. In all my years of experience here, I've never seen anyone be more attentive, detail-oriented and inviting.

Amy's philosophy is that we have the best guests in the world and we've been lucky enough to have our guests trust us with their very important down-time. Everything from the moment when they walk through the front door to the moment our guests leave has been carefully and thoughtfully anticipated, from fresh cookies, pool towels, chocolates in the room, sunscreen available for the guests, the one-on-one concierge service for planning local day trips and even mint laid down for your tea at dinner. And while everything done here at the Inn is a strong team effort, our direction and support comes directly from Amy.

As a visiting guests of the Inn, I'm sure you all have your own stories and experiences with Amy, during your stay here. We welcome you to leave your favorite experiences here with us and we hope you will all join us in congratulating her on her 10 years of dedication here at Sage Hill Inn Above Onion Creek!

Just Peachy!

Ed and Jeanne's 48th visit to the Inn!
I'm sure you all have heard us say it at least once, but we like to say it when we can: we have the best guests in the world! That's why it is such a treat for us when we have our guests come back to visit.

One of our most frequenting couples, Ed and Jeanne, just stopped by for their 48th visit to the Inn! Don't they make such a swell couple? This time around Ed and Jeanne decided to check out Vogel's Orchard for some of this summer's first ripe Texas peaches.

If you're looking for something fun and seasonal to do this Memorial Day, a visit to the orchard is a great option-- it's romantic, fun, and tasty! Vogel's is only an hour away from Sage Hill Inn.

You can find out more about planning a visit here: http://www.texaspeaches.com/vogel/Default.htm

Introducing Sage Hill Inn Above Onion Creek

Spring is just around the corner and we have some fantastic additions blossoming at the inn, including a great new addition to our name!

Owners, Eric Goldreyer and John Banczak, and the IAOC staff have been  focusing all their efforts towards making the Inn Above Onion Creek the best that it can be. With a new expanded spa, remodeled and upgraded rooms, a fire pit, a new pool deck and hot tub, a bocce ball and horseshoe court, added room amenities and expanded environmentally-conscious practices, the Inn is the best it has ever been!

The owners have made the decision to add "Sage Hill" in front of the well-known "Inn Above Onion Creek" name to "reflect the refurbished property’s increased focus on dining and ecological responsibility."

You can read more about Sage Hill Inn Above Onion Creek's name change and recent additions here.

While the Inn may have changed its name and added a few new features, it a clear goal of ours, as Inn Above Onion Creek staff, to maintain the attention, care and friendliness that is trademark to the Inn and to make sure to continue the traditions that make the Inn your home away from home.

And, as always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you might have-- we're here to make this transition as pleasant and exciting as possible.
