DRIVING FROM DALLAS? ZAGAT RECOMMENDS
DAY TRIP RESTAURANTS WORTH THE DRIVE

Here's what writer Stephen Lindsey had to say about Sage Hill Inn & Spa:

Kyle: Sage Hill Inn & Spa
Sure, you can visit the restaurant at this quaint inn with killer views of the sprawling, underpopulated Hill Country without staying on the 88-acre property, but availability is limited. So why not book an overnight stay in one of the rooms, suites or private cottages to guarantee two great meals each day?

Must-order:
Chef Kristen Abram works hard to bring a true farm-to-table experience with an ever-changing daily menu utilizing locally sourced ingredients for every component of her meals. A three-course dinner and full hot breakfast (pictured above) are included with every overnight booking and menus are posted the week prior.

A non-food reason to drive:
There's no need to plan any other excursions because you can relax away an afternoon in the pool, go on a hike to the creek or cozy up in the small spa.

Austin Food Magazine Recommends Sage Hill Inn & Spa Getaway

Austin Food Magazine editor Hayden Walker had much to say about his recent weekend stay, raving about the accommodations, food and restful stay.

Summer is is almost here and travel season beckons. It’s been a tough year for a lot of people so far and you just can’t wait to get out of town for vacation or at least a little getaway for the weekend.  Leaving town for a peaceful getaway is an absolute priority but you’re probably in no mood for loud children or large crowds. After the year you’ve had so far you probably desire something a peaceful, blissful getaway with your lover or spouse.

Serenity isn’t as far as away as you may think.
In fact, it’s just a 30 minute drive from Austin.

Monarch Butterflies All Around

Spring is in the air at Sage Hill, and so are Monarch butterflies! We have three different kinds of species of native milkweed here on the Sage Hill property, without which, Monarchs cannot live or lay their eggs. 2017 is the biggest Monarch boom that Sage Hill has seen in a decade! Last year there were about 100, but this year, we are excited to see our Monarch butterly population already pushing 1,000.

Sage Hill also has their master gardener keeping a close eye on these beautiful butterflies, and tagging them. This is so we can share with guests the different types of Monarchs, as well as the development process. From where they lay their eggs, to caterpillars and chrysalises, we will be able to show visitors this process throughout the upcoming weeks.

Guess Who's Expecting?
Say Hello to Salt & Pepper

On your next visit to Sage Hill Inn & Spa, make sure and say hello to the new residents, Salt and Pepper, our Cotton Patch geese! Once a common breed throughout the south and eastern United States, cotton patch geese are now critically endangered, with fewer than 100 breeding pairs alive. Beautiful geese with happy and non-aggressive personalities, they love the Texas heat and humidity. Sage Hill is so happy to be able to provide a home for them! With the mating season upon us, one of them is "expecting" and will be laying eggs soon.  Over the next few months, they will have 14-20 babies! Congratulations are in store soon!

Sage Hill Inn & Spa's Garden Boasts Bountiful Spring Offerings

The kitchen at the Sage Hill Restaurant is extremely happy with the garden boasting a daily harvest of lettuces, swiss chard, radishes, beets, edible flowers and herbs such as thyme, mint, chives, parsley, cilantro and lemon balm. Over the next two months broccoli, kale, cabbage, cauliflower and brussel sprouts will be harvested.
The garden also now has ten different varieties of heirloom tomatoes that have been planted and are growing amazingly.
Come see the Icelandic poppies and Pacific Giant Delphiniums, in full bloom, not to mention the blue bonnets have made their annual arrival!  Welcome Spring!

Here's What Food & Wine Magazine About Their Recent Visit

A few months ago, Wine Editor Ray Isles visited Sage Hill Inn & Spa, while touring the Texas Hill Country. We were so happy happy to have him! Here's what he shared with his readers:

It’s about an hour to Sage Hill Inn,
a beautifully renovated country lodge
by the banks of Onion Creek, but you’ll be well placed for your first winery visit tomorrow morning. Plus, you’ll get treated to gorgeous views looking west out over Hill Country, working fireplaces in all the plush, modern rooms, and terrific food...graced with whatever’s currently growing in the inn’s gardens. Book a massage at the inn’s new spa, then sleep peacefully, in utter silence—except for those ubiquitous Texas crickets. foodandwine.com

Thanks Ray!

We were so excited to have the staff of Clink Events visit Sage Hill Inn for their corporate retreat!  The weather was perfect and the team took advantage of the great facilities for meeting space, break out groups, meals and socializing.

Sage Hill Inn & Spa is the perfect setting for a corporate getaway. Centrally located in Texas and just minutes from Austin, the Inn offers a quiet and reflective setting that allows a business team to regroup, focus on their core strategies, practice team building exercises and more.

Imagine after a day of meetings your team comes out energized, stays together for dinner and enjoys the night around the fire pit, going for a hike, throwing some horse shoes or washers, or relaxing in the new 12 person hot tub. The experience has kept groups coming back for years. There has never been a better time to book your group at the Inn!
